Sounds like a pretty amazing lady. That's advice I'll remember to heed the next time I'm having a crummy day.

I was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to a career Army man and a transplanted Iowa lass. In 1990, I graduated in the top 11th percentile of my high school class and went on to earn a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Psychology in 1995. I'd damned near finished a Master of the Arts degree in Adult and Community Education when I accepted a professional internship with the DoD, started traveling, and met the man of my dreams. Today, I'm a senior HR Specialist for that same DoD component and am a happily married mom-of-a-toddler!

That is so sad but so beautiful.
Very much so. :( I can't even fathom what the loss of a parent must feel like. It's funny...when you're young, you always think of your parents as invincible and ageless. Now that I am the parent, I see them aging and it scares me. When I read things like this, I am humbled and saddened, but thankful that my parents are still with us. I guess the good lesson is to love those in your life while they're here to love. Thanks for posting your comment, Pleutim.
