Oh Yeah? Well, Right Back Atcha, Buddy!

This entire day has been nothing but a giant "Fuck You!" to me. And tonight's not been much better. Let me just say this - I will relish the time to myself tomorrow. No commitments, no one chirping at me, just peace and whatever-the-hell-I-want. And not a damned day too soon, either.

Hi everyone. Sorry for the chipper and happy post! It's been a shitter of a day. I know it's been yet another 900 years since I've posted and I apologize. (You suppose the excuse "I've Been Busy" will eventually wear thin?) It's true...it's been insane these last few days. Chapter-wise, all's well in Greekville(tm). We had a Tea up at the chapter house at Baker last weekend. The collegians are fantastic. Sweet and respectful and in love with our organization and what it stands for. I've adopted two of them as pen pals, and really had a good time getting to know the girls and enjoying the lovely spread they put together for us! Initiation was later that evening, but I just couldn't stay. I had too much to do and not enough time to do it all in, plus that would have made for a very late night. So far (today notwithstanding), the week's been basically good. I miss my family in Indianapolis. I'm way, way behind on my Christmas shopping. These last few years, I've been very good about getting the majority of my shopping done in the June-July-August timeframe, freeing up my holiday months for relaxation and all of the other events and goings-on of the times. I've got a few things for my Mom and one for my Dad...and absolutely nothing for Curtis or his folks. Erin's scarf that I crocheted? Yeah - it's child-sized, not toddler-sized. Translation: She'll get that scarf for Christmas...IN ABOUT EIGHT YEARS!!!! I'm trying to get an afghan together for a close family friend, and the gift I'm crocheting for Mom is going well, so that's good. I swear, if I see one more beautiful, easy-looking pattern that calls for Lion Brand HOMESPUN yarn, I'm going to throw myself off a bridge. Whoever decided that this yarn is easy to use is an imbecile. I've tried to crochet with this yarn with a G-hook, and a J-hook, and an N-hook and even a (are you sitting down?) Q-hook, but no luck! It's beautiful, don't get me wrong, but a bear to work with. Grrowl. Not that the WOOL-EASE SPORTWEIGHT that I'm using for Mom's gift is any easier. Is it me, or does that damned stuff unravel like it's going out of style? Grrowl. You know, the only yarn I really have any luck with is that cheapy, basic SAYELLE yarn by Canon. It's pretty, too, when it works up (that's what I used for my Michaels squares, which, I realize, I never photographed and added to this blog...sorry). Does this mean that I'm forever doomed to a life of Sayelle crochet? Oh well...

(God-dammit, Unkymoods! Why won't you let me log in?)

In the meantime, I still have no package from Greek Gifts Etc. Bastards.

Oh yeah - a sorority sister of mine is a Southern Living At Home consultant and I'm considering hosting a party within the next few weeks? Want to give me an order and help me to inevitably earn beaucoup hostess dollars with which I will selfishly and shamelessly shop for myself?

I've already said this, but it bears repeating. Sorry that this post isn't filled with the usual joie-de-Jen-vivre that you're accustomed to seeing here on my blog. Pissy days make for a pissy Jen. I'm sure the snit will (eventually) pass. Bear with me. :)

"Bush Wins! Kerry Calls President To Concede 2004 Election"

Thank. You. God!

Hug Me, I Voted...

Well, I did it. I voted. And it feels very, very good. It wasn't so bad! I guess I thought it would be more involved and complex. It was very easy. And it feels very, very good.

Please, God...please let Mr. Bush win. This country simply cannot afford four years of liberal rule. We just can't.

I'll blog more later. Off to relax and reflect. -Jen
